I can't get my printer to Share on my home network

ok, my printer (HP PSC 1210) works great, it's connected to my desktop. Everything is connected to the desktop. The laptop (what im currently on, and sharing internet from desktop) is connected by a simple hub.

File and printer sharing is set up on both comps, the printer itself has been told to share. Both computers are running xp. Any ideas why my laptop doesnt see the printer?

Do you have file sharing access from one computer to the other? If not, disable XP firewall on the laptop - the Windows Firewall will block the Windows file sharing (and printer sharing).
Or you can configure the firewall to allow windows file sharing - but this is a bit more advanced

only firewall is the xp firewall... it's running

Have you tried disabling it just to make sure it's not causing a problem? WinXP SP2 firewall SHOULDN'T stop print sharing (unless someone accidently configured it wrong) but SP1 firewall definately will.
