I downloaded the latest drivers, but when I go to "Have disk" and point it there, it doesen't find any devices? lol..


Can anybody point me towards some Windows 2000 drivers for the D-Link DFE-530TX?

Are you sure the drivers aren't an executable file which you just run?

here is the d-link driver download site..just select your card

since you didn't tell me what OS you run,i couldn't get a direct link

Okay, this is really starting to piss me off.. lol. I've never had this kind of problem with anything before.


I've downloaded drivers that have Windows 2000 drivers for the D-Link DFE-530TX. When I point it there, it finds the .INF, but it doesen't find any compatible devices. WTF? lol... Somehow I got it to install something, and it at least knew the name of the NIC, but it came up as "D-Link DFE-530TX Ethernet Controller #3" or something like that, and it still had the ! by it.


I just took the stupid thing out like 3 weeks ago when I had to put my modem back in. I expected it to just reinstall the old drivers. Even so, I didn't expect this kind of problem. What's going on? lol

I've had this problem before with a Realtek something or other and an old ISA NE2000 compatible (from Eagle or Microdyne). Yes I had the ROM chip flashed to set up the correct IRQ and memory addresses set for the card, ISA slot, (and even the Legacy settings in the BIOS set correctly) and OS - didn't matter what settings I used after a while. I also remembered to install the newest PIIXIDE/PCI drivers in NT4 with SP4,5 and 6A for teh PCI Realtek something or other (can't remember which 80X9 chip it was based on). Both worked for years then just died after I moved them from one motherboard to another... updated drivers didn't work and I just gave up after countless hours of reinstalling them to the exact setup I had them in for years (even clean installing old OSes on old motherboards). I dunno what happened but they make great frisbies now.

I guess the point being that old trusty NIC cards just die when moved too much... Seems like they are the only hardware I've had the problem with consistently.

are you SURE it's a 530Tx?

if you take the card out and look at it, it should be labeled. have you done that yet?

the fact it said #3, would suggest you have multiple installs of drivers
go into safe mode and remove all NICS showing in Dev Manager
