I cant get my forums to work.....

I recently bought some hosting with Ripplehost.com and set up a site. MameBox.net.

I set up forums on the site Mamebox.net/forums/ but I cant get it to work.


It was working the other day, I modified it to my liking, and then went to a freinds and when I got home I was gonna mess with it some more but it wouldnt load up the page. The main site works fine though. www.mamebox.net.

And when I upload my files via cute ftp I still see the folder forums. Nothing was edited between the time it worked and the time it stopped.

Im not familiar with php or sql so I dont really know what files to look at.

If someone could help me it would be greatly apreciated.

Is your address correct?

Looks like you may have placed the files in the wrong place...

No it was working before at www.mamebox.net/forums/

Ripplehost's C-Panel Installed the Forum Automatically for me.
I did have a redirection setup for www.forums.mamebox.net but removed that to see if it was the problem...

I setup the redirection again and Now it doesnt show that apache page, it just shows a cannot find server error.

Well use your ftp program and look for the index.php file in that directory. My guess is that file is missing.

Nope index.php is in my forums folder

Well as far as im concerened ripplehosts service sucks. I asked how to delete their database because it only allows 5 databases and this is my second one.... They want answer that question. Im new to this and just need a little, well maybe alot 😱, of help.

This is the second time this has happened to me when I have made a forum with them. It works for a day then stops.

Although in all reality Its probally something im doing, except the first time it only worked 5 mins.

I have my forums forums.gottadeal.com hosted through AddAction.net for $4.30/mo and I receive true 24/7 tech support which I have used already and received a reply within 30 minutes.

hrm, just checked ripplehost, they dont allow shell access. there's no way in cpanel to delete the forums and start over?

IDK, I guess I can delete the whole database and start them over..... Ill try that, hopefully they will stay working.

Are their any other free forums that work better than phpbb??
