Today I tried my first attempt at overclocking and it didn't go so well. :( I followed all the directions in zebo's sticky but I couldn't even get the HTT/FSB past the stock 200! Anything above that and the computer wouldn't POST. Here's what I did: I set the CPU multiplier to 6, and set all of the memory settings to Auto except for 100. What gives?

Some motherboards don't work at 100. I know mine only likes 133 and 166.

Also what is the HT Link set to 2x? 3x? 4x? 5x? My machine only like 3 and 4.

I set the CPU multiplier to 6, I thought that was the same thing as the HT Multiplier. If not, I guess I need to change it. Does it deal with the CPU or the memory. WHere do I change it?

are you using SATA Hard Drives?

If so and there is more than one set of them on the motherboard use the other set.

BTW what motherboard and CPU do you have? Ram?
