I just built my computer. I go to add new hardware, and there are a bunch of codenames for hardware and I think one of them is my videocard but I cant figure which one. And when I do, how do I update the drivers for it if i cant connect to the internet.

right click on you desktop, properties -> settings -> advanced -> adapter....And use a CD if you have no internet access...Ofcourse f you dnt have any vifeo drivers installed, there is no way of findng out which video card you have without opening the case.

i know exactly what video card I have, but all the names in the list are stuff like VGA Adapter 1, PCI Bus Adapter 1 and 2, and stuff like that.

You dont need to use Add Hardware. TO get the drivers, you could use the old drivers witht he install disk but i would suggest downloading then from an internet-enabled computer and burning them on a disk.

As said before, you don't need to add hardware, its there. Just right click on my computer, click properties, hardware, device manager, display adapters, under that it should have either your card name or vga adapter. either way you can right click and update driver or install new drivers.

all you have to do is place the your Videocard driver cd in your cd/dvd drive and just install it. it'll tell you to restart, and that's it.
