I guess it could be a bad ocer chip, but I think you need to look into settings others are using as many of these i865 or i875 mobos have had some issues when running sub 200fsb chips....whether it be just a simple bios setting or updating to a new bios firmware there are many workarounds and fixes for these "b" chip compatability issues with canterwood and springdale boards....check into it.....
Unless you are not running a 1:1 setting which you should be at this point for testing purposes I don't see the ram as being the likely culprit in the low oc....If you are running 3:4 ratio and possible cas2 settings it could be and I recommend you run at 1:1 settings and spd at the moment or manual cas 2.5 (low non-aggressive timings)...
What kind of RAM do you have?
I just bought one of these from the Forums. Could this be a bad overclocker? I will find out later tonight. I got the Asus P4PE.
On the 3rd line of the writing on the chip, at the ending, does yours say 1.525 or is it blank? If it's blank then it's MultiVID. Maybe it's a bad MultiVID. Can you us all of the code on the chip as it appears?
Thanks.
