i've search onlined, but found what parts per million mean, but still don't know the steps to solve this, need someone to show me how to work problems like these out or a equation to this problem.

What you will need to figure this out is parts per million ?what?
You could have 1 egg in a million cherries which would be about no units in a quart.
or
You could have 1 Hydrogen atom with a million Helium atoms and have 10 million Hydrogen atoms in a quart.
See?

1 PPM for a liquid is equal to .001ml per litre. So use that and transfer litres to quarts.

I stand corrected. Forgot my decimal points

Spank,
1 PPM for a liquid is equal to 1ml per litre

1 ml per liter is 1 part per thousand. Mili = 1/1 thousand

the only thing i copied down was: 1ppm=_units/quart. so 1ppm has to be some kind of item in order to solve this or can 1ppm be undefind such as using a variable x? this came from my nutrition class, and i'm pretty sure that's all was given on the board.

1 millionth of a quart/1 quart = 1 ppm

Also, 1 milligrarm/kilogram is a ppm
