I can't figure out what my duplex should be!

I am on Road Runner cable service here in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. We have a few different computers going into a Netgear hub here in my house, but they are not networked together.

Basically, last night I tried to call and talk to the nitwit that answered the phone at the Road Runner office to ask him what I should set the duplex to with my Intel 100/+ Management NIC card, and I told him about my setup. He said he had no idea and couldn't help. Great.

Anybody know a way I can find out? I went ahead and set it to 100MBps/Full Duplex and my connection is still working, but if that is not the proper setting that I should be setting it to, I would like to know so that I can hopefully boost speeds!

Thanks again!

All depends on your hub? is it a hub or switch? 10mbps or 100?
Best set it to auto if unsure.

Pretty simple issue really:

If you have a HUB, then duplex MUST be set to HALF
If you have a SWITCH, then duplex MAY be set to FULL (or HALF)
