I cant seem to send or recieve DCC transfers on mIRC nor send/recieve on ICQ! I just set up a network at home here using the built-in Internet Connection Sharing on windows XP. Could anyone tell me how I can get the transfers to work please?? I have a basic knowledge of networking but I am a far cry from experienced, so if you could give me fairly specific steps that would really help!! Thank you

I just want to bump this up because I am having the same problem and now I have a Linksys router and it won't let me upload files...only download.

Are both the server and the clinet having problems or just one of them? If the client is having problems, trying adding the IRC service in the advanced setting for ICS.

I have the firewall completely turned off in WinXP and both client and host are having the problem, or had, since I used to have it running ICS through a hub, but now it's on a router. Even though theyr'e connected to the router, I still cannot upload. I was hoping the router would fix this. Any ideas? I was reading up on it some and this webpage said that you have to have static IPs set in the router instead of dynamic so you can upload files through some sort of special IP that allows in and out access to the web. Can anyone confirm this?

i have this same problem as you do with not being able to upload files via DCC and i'm going to see tonight if i can get it to work by enabling DMZ. i'm not too sure if it is going to work but i'll give it a try and i'll let you know what happens.
