I recently configured a system as
Asus M2N-SLi
X2 4200+
2gb (4x512MB Corsair DDR2 667 ram)
250GB Maxtor HD SATA.
A samsung Dual-Layer DVD-RW.
I am trying to create a one time backup so that if the client wants to reinstall, he just has to pop in the disk and he's away. But the problem I keep getting is this, I first tried my trusted Acronis True Image and proceeded to create a Secure zone with the startup manager, backup was created but when I tried to go in to the startup manager, the system hangs after I click load acronis full version to try to see if the backup works. Then I tried Ghost 2003 (I like this version of Ghost best). I had made a restore DVD with it once before which worked perfectly. Now this time after botting into the interactive mode in DOS, it takes an excruciating long time to just contunue to the status screen (the HD LED is constantly on at this time and I have set the DVD as the destination) but it just stays there and nothing happens. HD problems? I am trying to locate a temp HD to see if this thesis holds but until then I am stuck.
