i burned it with a TDK VeloCD (12x)... used Nero and fireburner..

ive never used fireburner so i just opened the file with it and burned... didnt check anything...

i burned it with fireburner and nothing burned on the cd...

the last times i burned it with nero (about 3 times?) i followed the directions on some of the posts here and on the mandrake site... sometimes it doesnt detect the cd in windows, sometimes it does..

yesterday i actually got to the install part, and while it was installing, it slowed down to a crawl about 1 minute through the installation, progress stalled when there was estimated 6 hours and 30 minutes left to install...

am i burning it wrong? should i just try again?

I am with you man. I tried NERO too (version 5.0) and the thing is just a pain in the a$$. Instructions don't help at all. Anybody?

Hmm sorry no solution but I'm using a Plextor 8x4x32 and burned the mandrake iso fine with Fireburner. I don't check anything, just add the .iso and click burn.

I have the Yamaha Lightspeed 16x. I love the thing, but my case is frustrating the hell out of me. Because of the way Dell set it up I can't get the IDE cable to the other CD drive from the HD. Because of this my CDRW and CD are both on the same IDE channel, and needless to say, I don't get 16x. Maybe 8 or 12, and only 12 when I burn from the HD. GGGRRRRRR.:disgust::frown:😕:frown:
