I can't believe they have a haircut service now that comes to you

People don't want to go outside anymore. My wife and I were driving around last night and there has been a huge increase in the number of people paying for someone to put up their Christmas lights

More than a decade ago the lawn service I was prospecting had another business in which they put up Xmas decorations in people's yards and on their homes. While I had no need for that I bet my wife would have paid for them to do it for Halloween. But I find mobile services becoming a stronger thing these days. heck, if one's dogs can get that kind of personalized treatment why can't the dogs' humans get it, too?

BTW, I usuallu pay ~$22 to get my hair cut by a local barber. Not a chain shop, but a one-off privately owned barber shop. BUT, if some hot woman dressed scantily wants to come over to my home and cut my hair .... well then bring on the excitement. I would pay $50 for that and get my hair cut more often than every other month. Just don't tell my wife.

As long as there's trust, it makes sense in any industry where employees are "independent contractors" and are paying more to work than they make doing their job.

My housemate has her stylist come over to the house. They cut out the (massive) seat fee that the shop charges and save money, and I'm sure the stylist is accurately reporting all of the cash income on her taxes. Win/win.

Maybe a different version of this. My aged mother-on-law can't get out much becasue she cannot walk far, so she has a hairdresser who comes to her house by appointment to cut and perm her hair.

What's really interesting is that there's (apparently?) enough of a market for it that people are willing to do it for a price enough people are willing to pay to make it a feasible enough business model to get publicity. The general concept is hardly unknown, but until (apparently) now, "most people" couldn't or wouldn't have been willing to pay the "going rate" for it.

It's an interesting comment on society. Look at all the personal services popping up because people either don't have the time or interest to work at living. What exactly are we spending all our time and interest on? Work? Thank you Corporate America, may I have another?

They should team up with Uber and have a hair cutting van that picks you up. You get your hair cut while it drives you around to do your errands.

To be fair, that is the worst chore ever. The satisfaction you get out of it is not worth the 3 hours moving the ladder all over the place. In the bitter cold (where it actually feels like the holidays).

Anyway, I thought the laziest service ever is dog poop scooper in your own backyard. Come on people...

Wtf. This has been a thing forever. I remember my mom used to get someone round on the 70s to do her hair.
