I can't believe my eVGA GTX 460 1GB!

I've got it set to 1.087v and 900MHz core 4400 RAM and 1800MHz shaders and it runs all my games georgiously. It's gottta be faster that a stock 480 GTX, no?

The GTX480 is a beast. Your card is an amazing value but it still isn't as fast as the 480:

- Shader and vertex performance is still about 11% slower,
- memory bandwidth is 26% slower,
- pixel fill-rate is 17% slower,

@ 900 it's faster than both 470 and 5870 though!

Praiseth be thee GF104, for it has showeth us the way, the light and the love of overclocking.

I don't even know why I'm posting this.

No, but add another one (since you have a sli board) and it will smoke a gtx480 and beat up a 650$ 5970. Can't beat that for $400+ ha?

I'm still waiting for the 475 -- faster than the 480 at stock speed, while using 100 watts less and burning down 100% less houses!

(But seriously, it will hopefully be a very nice card so I can finally replace my 4870-512 from July 2008 with either a 475 or repriced 5870.)

maybe this theoretical person wanted a video card LAST YEAR and didn't have a whole lot of choice from the nvidia camp. kind of like if he's looking THIS fall as well, btw.

nvidia has gtx 460 and a bunch of crap right now that only sells when it is significantly better in the price/perf category.

its not going to be as fast as a 480, but at 900 its trading blows with a 470 for sure. Im pretty happy with my 460 1 GB at 900/1000 but am still going SLI as soon as i can.
