I'm a freshman in highschool and am on the track team. Last year in junior high I was the 2nd fastest person in my class and our 4x200m relay team nearly set the school record. In addition to running the 4x2 last year I started running the 400m dash. I loved it from the beginning. I eventually got down to a 58 seconds flat.

This year I'm running the 100m, 200m, 400m. My 100m and 200m times are the fastest of all the freshman in my school and faster than some sophmores and juniors. But my 400m times are sucking big time!! I went from the fastest person in our class to like 3rd or 4th. Our first meet I ran a 59.47 on a 165m indoor track, which should mean I would be running about high 56 mark when outdoor season starts, right? Wrong! That meet was about 5 or 6 weeks ago and since then I haven't even broken the minute mark! Tonight was my first time under a minute this outdoor season, 59.40. I should be low 57 or high 56 right now!

I can't figure out what is wrong with me!!

Outdoor fresh/soph conference meet is next Saturday, and I only have 2 meets before that. I better improve fast.

I know this may sound crazy but this works for ALOT of guys in different sports. If you wear womens silk undergarments while you work out it will provide good luck and from what I've heard will relax you more because of how comfortable silk is on the skin. Give it a try.

Holy ******! You're growing?! It happens. Your muscles, bones, and joints don't all develop in sync. It sucks, but all you can do is train through it.

Jeezus

You're just growing a little slower than the rest of your classmates.

Don't worry about it, just keep your routine and injest as much protein as much as possible.

Weights on Arms and Leg. 5 Pounds on Each Limb.

And when you run, put a gauze over your mouth. This limits your air intake and fores your body to adapt by thickening the blood, allowing more oxygen transfer. Your body should be good with this in 2 weeks.

Protein Is good too.

Are you serious about the gauze thing?

@ Fleshlight, its not the shoes. I run in sprint spikes that are like 7 ounces.

Steroids are not an option lol

I wouldn't say "actually" with a gauze. But yes. You know those people who always win races? They Usually train in high altitudes so their blood is thicker. This allows more efficiency with oxygen. Then at race day, your body will be overcome with oxygen, which is good.

Edit- In other words, Gauze reduces air intake too much. Just use something that reduces air intake a bit. not guaranteed to work.
