I currently have Dish Network, Its sunny outside, not a cloud in the sky, but I HAVE NO FREAKING SIGNAL. OMG, then when it drizzles, the reception goes to SHI-KA-KA!!!! I can't stand this crap, I wish I had cable where I live, but how many people are out there have dish an enjoy it for any length of time???? You call up tech support and they say all this crud about, ooo It's you location, do you have the dish pointed in the right direction, OF COURSE YOU MORON, what kind of idiot do you take me for.... And this one tops it all off... When it DRIZZLES I mean the slightest shower poof its gone. I just want to know who has dish and can actually tollerate it... I sure can't....

I just called Dish they said they would have somewon out here monday...

how is your dish alignment? how strong is the signal?

are you sure the dish is anchored properly?

H34D0N,

With symptoms like that, I think it's far more likely that there's something wrong with your installation than there is with Dish Network.

If Dish Network put out such a lousy signal, millions of customers would be complaining. I think it's far more likely that you have a loose coax connector, or a misaligned dish, or a coax with a broken center wire.

check the setup menu/signal strength. in the past 1.5 years we have had dish network, we have not seen it go out once, even in the worse of storms (well it doesnt get too stormy in norcal, but you get the picture). we even have two dishes - 2x the chance of something going wrong....

I have DISH, and I am very happy with it. Only time I have issues is in really strong weather conditions.

As stated above and also have you equipment tested, check your lines, switches ect
if any one of those is messed up in any little way can effect signal quality.

I live out in the middle of farmsville and get some really nasty weather and have zero problems
and the only time I did have problems was one of my coax pulled loose and after doing a quik
repair had full signal again.

I live in florida, so Drizzles here aren't what you'd really expect...
Everything is fine, I live out in the boonies though.

Same here. I live in Alabama and we get more than our fair share of nasty weather - especially this week when we've been hammered for about 4 days straight with storms. I DO lose my signal occasionally during a very heavy storm, but it rarely lasts more than a few minutes as the worst part of a storm usually passes fairly quickly. Unfortunately, we had storm after storm after storm lined up this week so we lost our signal several times. But it's still worth it as the services and picture quality are amazing compared to what I had with cable.

One thing I have seen people do on the self installs is point the dish(s) in the wrong direction
they need to point in the South to SouthWest direction since the sats are in a geosinc orbit over the equator.

I dont think its Dish network that has the problem, if you did a self install recheck everything
I can bet there is either something installed wrong or you have faulty equipment some place in the loop.

I live in Arizona and have Dish network...no problems with clouds and rain here.... :p

Actually the reception is pretty good IMO. The only time it blanks out is when there is a huge thunderstorm overhead and the clouds are too thick.

The thing i hate about Dish network, is they don't have any of the sports packages like DirectTV. We can't get the hockey package, baseball package, or football package. That sucks.

My Digital Cable is shady. HBO on Demand works in my room but won't work in my sisters room. Then it will work in both our rooms, but won't work in the den. Atleast it seems to always work in my room though... :)

Sounds like your dish is messed up. My house is foggy most afternoons and rainy and the only time the signal drops out is during heavy rain, maybe once a month.

Go under setup & see what your signal strength is, I lose my signal when the weather is severe, but it tolerates light precipitation well.

I suspect your dish needs to be re-aligned so your signal strength is better & can tolerate signal degradation better when the weather interferes.

I've had it for 3 years.
