I cannot log on to network

I am using Windows ME right now and until I se otherwize I do not plan on going the 2000/XP route anytime soon. I have a big problem with the windos network logon screen which pops up every time even though I don't have any paswords set. I used Xsetup to use auto logon which removes the logon prompt but it is horible as it does not logon at all which makes it even worse as I have no access to the network drives. Tweak UI has an auto network feature which will logon but it is slow because it aclualy enters the logon value into the window at boot so I actualy see it and it does not even run automaticaly if scandisk runs at boot. All of these are unexceptable as I need the network and I always need my computer to start instantly eithout having to press OK in some prompt.

I need some program or a registly hack or something that is fast and fully reliable and yet will not compimize my system stability. And ofcourse it would have to logon normaly to all network drives just like if I pressed OK at the network logon prompt.

Well I'll make a suggestion, though I haven't used ME...I disable scandisk and use the autologon in tweakui, the logon window flies by quickly for me. Any help?
