As the title says, I have a eMachines 6805 Laptop, uses the Athlon 64 cpu, and BroadCom wireless chip. It is Wireless "G". I also just got a Netgear WGR v4 Router from someone. I got a Netgear wirelsss PCI card for my desktop too. After having a pretty hard time, I finally got the wireless to work on my desktop.

But I still cannot get the wireless to work on my laptop. I can't even get the lappy to see the wireless connection in the available connections window to even try to connect. Does anyone know what setting or configuration I need to change or add or do? PLease help me with this. I do not know much about wireless hardware right now. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

I know this is true for Toshiba Laptops so i may be true with yours. But with Toshiba laptops there is a LAN/Wireless switch on the case of the laptop, fliping this switch would enable the wireless nic and you should be up and running.. try it and see...

Hi, I went and read the paper work after I read another thread and there are 2 buttons I have to push to turn on the radio. Now it works :)

But, when I was connecting, it asked me if I wanted to connect to the unSecure network?? How do I make my network secure? Please let me know what to do. Thankyou. :)
