i cannot get a 'dcc chat request' on mirc

when i try to trigger onto anyone's server, i get 'nickname (ip info) is trying to chat with you on port xxxx' but no dcc chat box pops up. I have previously /dccallowed that person. If I try to 'dcc - chat' to anyone, the status window shows '* DCC Chat locked in options dialog'.

My settings are 'Dcc - on chat request - auto accept'. Zonealarm has been removed from the system tray. Several have been stumped already. This happens whether I am using @home or dialup.

Is your look up method set to normal or server? Whatever it is on now, switch it. (this is under connect/local info)

I changed my lookup method from server to normal, result is the same.

Are you behind a router? If so, make sure you have the port address mapped to your computer to get DCCs through...other than that, I don't remember ever having that error, hope you get it working soon.

Solved - It was a checkbox in 'General - Lock' disable private chats -- which apparently is there by default
