I cannot edit my hosts file...

basically I have having a bunch of issues with the machine, including some local DNS issues. Some computers on a local subnet are reachable wile others are not. I have multiple networks but this seems to be a problem issolated to my machine.

Anyways, I am trying to edit the hosts file and I keep gettign an error that says that it cannot write to the disk specified. I also tried copying the hosts file somewhere else, editing it, and then tryign to repalce it to no avail.

The file itself is not currently locked by the system and it is not set to read only.

I thought something liek wondows defender might be the issue so I stopped the service but stilll, I cannot edit the damn file...

obviosuly I will nuke the machine.....jsut need to make do with what I have for now...I have a bunch of network drives on my fileserver currently avaible via IP only that are offline because of this right now🙁
