It's just MSN messenger, but he uses some other program that i'm not sure what it is. It might be one that shows your message history when you click on that persons name to send a message, in which case i'm screwed.

I said "looks like _____, ______, and ______ are leaving for another private session"

Look in your sent messages folder to see if you can recall the message.

Hahaha. I have no point to get across though. You know I like the guy, he's a nice guy. My coworker doesn't get along with him though so I just help to fuel the fire to keep things interesting around here.

Try to explain him the situation, show him the original message. I'm sure he will laugh together with you. Have no worries. Did you delete the message from the DELETED FOLDER btw???

UPDATE:

Ok, I timed this perfectly. Right as he sat down and logged into his computer I made sure to go over and ask him a few questions, so he turned around to face me and didn't see as his computer went through the whole login procedure. He then turned around and is working on his computer and has noticed nothing abnormal!

SUCCESS!

Here's your chance:

switch the PSU to the opposite mode... wait... you live in the US, so switching from 110V to 220V would accomplish nothing... too bad... would work wonders here in Europe. Not sure if the different frequency could make any harm.

That depends. If names were inserted in the blank spaces then yeah, seems pretty mundane. But if OP inserted rude nicknames for 'em then he could be screwed.

I figured the reboot would take a little less lying and less complication on my part.

thats gotta be the stupidest thing ive ever heard

Should have sent a message immediately after that, "Haha, I'm just playin'."

It's not like what you said was major...

Yeah they weren't exactly rude nicknames, I used two of the guys regular names, but I used a slang of my bosses name that isn't exactly disrespectful, it just isn't respectful either. It's what we all call him behind his back, and what a lot of people call him to his face, but I just don't want to join that crowd because he doesn't like it.

If you're running on AD, I think the PCs should have administrative shares, you could log in as admin, access your bosses PC \\PCNAME\C$ , find any log files and delete.

I almost did that, but I still think he would have taken offense. It would have been REALLY out of context and random and he would know something was up.

I'm just glad I didn't throw "circle jerk" in there like my mind was telling me to.

This happened to me for real. I sent an ex-coworker a funny spreadsheet back then that was widely distributed which showed pictures of b00bs and you select real or fake and at the end it tally up your result. Anyway the ex-coworker somehow "accidentally" forwarded it to the entire company directory. Within 5 minutes he said there was a line of disgruntled women in his cube. Most of the men who received it had a good laugh. He got called down to HR and got reprimanded - surprised he wasn't fired. Of course he forwarded it with my name as the source. The IT manager at the time thought that I may have hacked the email system and sent some kind of virus - I found that funny. Glad I wasn't working there at the time.

Should've just set the building on fire - starting with the office your boss is located at... just to be safe.
