Has anybody else noticed on their LED-LCD screens, when you have slight motion you can actually see like the construction grid of the screen? Not sure how else to describe it...

I have an Asus VE228H 1080p and I notice if I scroll web pages at a certain speed, or if I pan the camera in games at a certain speed, I see a grid pattern in the screen show up. Its very faint and most people probably wouldn't notice it, but I can see it.

Has anybody else experienced this? Not sure what the technical name for it is, although I am sure a technical name exists for the phenemenon.

Im not talking about the pixel lines, its only during motion panning, its like a seperate faint grid shows up.

I can also see it if I shake my head side to side in front of the monitor, the grid shows up.

Also, the lines of the grid I am talking about seem to run diagonally across the screen, forming very faint diamonds.

Again, it is a very faint phenomenon but I am noticing it a lot while playing Diablo 3

So, is this normal? I want to know if I should return the monitor or not.

My old Dell Ultrasharp and my Thinkpad T500 LCD monitors dont show the grid I am talking about.

It is whenever there is motion or panning, its like I can see a very faint diamond shaped grid. Kind of ruins the detail of the image.

So like, anytime I move my head in front of the monitor, like physically move my head as if I am reaching over to grab something, I can see the lines.

But when I hold my head still, I cant see them.

Its like something that happens when either I move, or something on the screen moves slightly. Its like its exposing some grid (not the pixel grid, a diamond shaped one, but the diamonds arent much bigger than the size of a pixel or two)

This isn't normal and I believe it's a sign of poor quality. I've owned four Hanns-G monitors and three of them had this effect. I thought it was normal at first since I was playing F.E.A.R and thought it might be part of the game, but after playing various games, it became more and more noticeable.

Eventually, the grid was all I could focus on and I ended up getting a new monitor. I've had this LG Flatron for over three years and I'm just now having a problem with the monitor. Personally, I won't ever buy another Hanns-G monitor again.

I recently got a 23" Dell monitor from Best Buy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+23%26%2334%3B+Widescreen+Flat-Panel+LED+HD+Monitor/3775865.p?id=1218431537085&skuId=3775865&st=3775865%20&cp=1&lp=1

And I've noticed a diagonal looking grid sort of... but only when my head is moving.

I got the monitor for like $70 between black friday and some reward zone coupons.

It's just as a secondary monitor for watching stuff while playing certain games, etc... so it's not a huge deal. It's a good looking picture, just this grid thing is weird. Normally not an issue.

My primary monitor (Dell 2707 27" from 2007) does not have this issue, and I'm starting to realize why this thing was worth the $1000 I paid in 2007. It's still going strong, looks great... and is top notch quality.
