I've been able to read people's auras for a while, but I never really knew what they meant.. I just bought a book that explained the different colors and it's really frightening that I've been able to correctly identify auras for most of my friends. This isn't a fluke.. the auras I see have been 100 percent accurate with their personality types. I've also read a couple auras for people I've barely met (certainly not enough to ascertain their personalities) but I was still dead on. The really interesting part was that I matched the auras to the person without seeing what they meant in the book first -- E.g. I was looking at my g/f and seeing hers as pink, the closest match, Magenta, identified her to a T (Magenta = rebellious, creative). MIne, which I've known was blue, was dead on (Blue = nuturer, caretaker).

The descriptions in the book weren't vague, all-encompassing ones either; they went deep into all facets of personality and social/mental behaviours, and all of them were right on.

I correctly identified my uber-productive artist friend as a Green (before I even READ the section on Greens in the book), my best girl friend was harder.. I knew hers was something bright like red or orange or gold.. it turned out to be Orange (= purely physical, active, conqueror). Her b/f, who I met exactly ONCE for 30 seconds, I pegged as an "eclipsed" aura - Blue and Tan - that one really caught me off guard.. (= brotherhood, caretaker of humanity)

Can anyone here read auras? Do you think I'm full of crap? I don't think it's pure luck that i can identify the correct color spectrum for every person I know before I know what the colors mean..

BingBongWongFooey - Asking me to tell you what color your aura is is like asking me what you smell like. I'd have to meet you in person. Usually it's easier for me to see an aura after I've met the person and they've left the room.. they leave an "afterimage" that isn't clouded by whatever they're wearing.

Datalink7 - I think I can peg you as a Red. Reds like to voice their opinion and prefer not to accept abstraction as a valid form of thought ;) Do you have a temper?

Somehow, the mention of the words "red" and "temper" in a post made me think of a certain AT member... :p

Actually, I have actually almost no temper. I can't even remember the last time I lost my temper (seriously. Been years and years). I do tend to be very rational and don't believe in anything supersticious (sp?) or god or anything. Pretty cynical. But am also a dreamer. I am quiet and shy, and don't say anything unless I am absolutely sure I want to say it (which makes me sound more intelligent than I really am. People always think I am smart, just because everything that comes out of my mouth I have thought about for a long time. Not necessarily because I am intelligent).

If there were such a thing as Aura's (which I highly doubt but of course won't totally rule out the possibility) what am I?

datalink7 - That wasn't an honest estimate, I was just citing the Red's main handicap of not wanting to think in abstract fashion..
Like I told BBWF, I can't read auras unless I see the person. They can tell me whatever they want about their personality, but how they view themselves is often a skewed perspective.

Oh I see. Well I don't believe it, no offense :).

I think abstractly all the time (like I said I am a dreamer and like philosophical musings), but don't actually BELIEVE in anyting unless grounded in what I think is fact.

That's fine by me. I'm not trying to make money or push my ideas on anyone. I'll just leave the onus on you to *disprove* my claim that I can see auras. Find evidence against it and I'll admit I'm shovelling crap.

No offense, of course! I completely understand where you're coming from but I have a hard time relating to people who can't understand the workings of the world aren't all cut-and-dried pieces of easily tangible information. Ever heard of theoretical physics or philosophy? Or religion perhaps? ;)

But see I don't need to find evidence against it. The burdon of proof is on you, since most people cannot see these so called "aura's." It is you who are in the position of having to provide proof to validate your claim.

eh, i believe him. first off, he doesnt really have any reason to lie about it (maybe attention? you'd have to be REALLY starving for attention to post this thread in hopes of getting attention...), plus, i mean, i just dont see why he would make it up. and even if he is full of crap, no big loss for me, some guy probably half across the country fooled me into thinking he can read auras...oh well

plus i am a firm believer that humans are infinitely ignorant, and there's much more to life and the world than we can sense with our five senses. i'm pretty open minded to things like this.

keep in mind, however, that i absolutely do not believe in god or any religion. i am open to new and strange ideas, however i dont put any marbles into them unless i have proof of some sort at least. even then, i dont 'really' believe anything...sh-t....600 years ago they thought the world was flat.....and at some point in history before that, the idea of even the world being flat was probably a revolutionary idea. i rest my case, humans know nothing :D

I'll admit it myself, I don't really believe in religion of any sort -- I'll acknowledge a "higher power" but I certainly won't subscribe to some omnipotent being creating life out of nothing in a week, etc. I'm still debating on whether I believe in ghosts or the paranormal.. there's still only really sketchy evidence to support that.. However, auras are very real to me, I can see them readily and so far they've been totally accurate, so i have no reason to question myself.

I'm sorry, i dont believe you. Why? i HIGHLY doubt your the first person in the history of man to have this ability. And due to this challenge I'm sure that if these powers were really true, someone would have stepped forward, claimed the prize, and by doing so proven beyond a shadow of a doubt such powers existed, thereby flooding the media with it and possibly even generating new areas of science which would be studied etc etc.
But! If you really REALLY do have the ability, hey? Might as well become a millionare to boot right? ;)

Hey, that's pretty cool. I'm still working on defining colors (I get confused if someone has multiple colors or very bright colors).
If I can get my reading down pat I might take this jackass on for a challenge ;)

The prize expired last year. Anyways, I don't know if there is any proveable psychic powers. I won't say that there is no such thing but I have yet to come upon anyone who has any such powers and I don't know if I ever will. Do have to wonder though, as for example when I was typing this I got Deja-vu (the feeling that something your doing you've done before). Of course considering I've posted over 1600 times here I shouldn't be suprised that I'm getting this feeling. :p

Ever since I read "Travels," Michael Crichton's autobiography I've been interested in auras. I think they are real; just a form of energy we radiate, much like heat or visible light that some people interpret as color and/or texture. I've never been able to see auras, but I think it would be very cool to be able to do so.

If you are indeed telling the truth, let me ask you this: do you see them all the time? Do you see them for everyone? in a crowded room does everyone have an aura of color around them? does it obscure features or anything at all? Can you find photos or paintings/etc that illustrate how an aura looks?
