I can no longer use ICQ, Windows Media player, or Real audio player due to program errors. (i'm running win2k).

All of the programs mentioned in the subject worked fine yesterday. But today, I can't get them to run. I get the message "wmplayer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You Will need to restart the program. An error log is being created" every time I try to start these applications (with the appropriate exe names of course).
 
Sounds like a problem with the registry of media files. Try a reinstall of Windows MEdia player and see if that helps.
