I can hear noises from my DVD drive..thru my speakers??

i hav a 16x liteon DVD drive, and i can actually hear the disc inside spinning n some squeaks, thru my speakers, and it's even more pronounced on headphones... n i noticed this while watching movies on PowerDVD.

I suspect that the audio cable that runs to the CD-in is the culprit...

Anyone else who has this problem? ideas?
 
Can't really help; this is more of a comment - the MP3 CD player in my car does the same thing. Every squeak and whoosh that the CD makes is sent right through the speakers. I can easily hear when the thing is seeking the next file.
