So you are at work and called home/relatives/friends to tell them you are sick?

If you don't abuse it and haven't had a lot of sick days then don't feel too guilty.

In Europe a lot of companies use what are called 'duvet days' when you can just wake up and say ' i' don't really feel like work today'. The introduction of these days has drastically cut down the number of 'sick' days in some companies

I have chronic eye problems.

I often wake up and just can't see going to work that day. :D

Why feel guilty? Most employers have no loyalty to their employees anyway. They're not called sick days anymore, but rather "mental health days". As a salaried employee, I've found myself sleeping on the floor of my office during system problems. With all of the effort and time that I give to my employer, I don't feel bad about using sick days.

LOL, don't feel guilty, I won a prize for for the most creative ways of utilizing excessive sick time, a Calvin and Hobbs sweatshirt that said something like "I was gonna call out sick but ran out of excuses so I called in dead instead"
