Work in what way? Cold should ease the pain, but it won't magically heal it.

That being said, I drink scallding hot coffee every day, so I suppose I am used to it

I think I am immune to hot temps as I burned the roof of my mouth and taste buds many a'times.

My chin is not immune however... One time I was eating piping hot pizza and the cheese slipped off onto my chin. I had a big scab for about a week down the entire chin. That hurt like hell.

The worst is when you bite into something super hot, like pizza right out of the oven, and the cheese sticks to the roof of your moth right behind your teeth and burns so bad the skin peels off. 🙁
