I'm normally VERY UNhandy, but I managed to build this thing without losing any fingers. Jigsaws are awesome!!!

So far i've smoked two pork butts, and two chickens. It works GREAT!

How I did it

Nice job

You've inspired me to smoke a pork butt this weekend. Pulled pork here we come.

i may have to do this. did receive a smokenator 1000 for christmas, though

Nice. I had been using a mini wall of fire bricks in my weber kettle up until this. Temperature control was difficult though, the one touch cleaning system isn't tight enough.

I asked for a cajun bandit or a WSM for Christmas.

was that cheaper than doing the AB clay pot smoker?

ceramic would be better in the long run.

but that looks nice, fo sho.

Yeah. I looked at giant terra cotta pots years ago. I couldn't find any big enough that didn't cost less than $40.

I prefer charcoal as a fuel over electric anyway.

What is the lowest temperature you can get with that thing? I bought a Bradley smoker and it definitely cannot do COLD smoking which is what I want. 🙁

When you're smoking, you prefer using charcoal over electric? Really?

with charcoal, I can smoke ANYWHERE.

Electric heat doesn't add any flavor, charcoal does.

This won't do cold smoking. It can do several beer can chickens right, although I'm not convinced the beer can method actually has any effect.
