Hey everyone. I've been messing around with network settings in Windows 2000 for security reasons after moving my computer to my college. I had everything set up and working, but now I seem to be having some problems that popped up after making some changes suggested by a security site (http://www.tames.net/security/win2ksettings.htm) among other setting changes. First of all, no one can ping my computer. If they type in my IP, my dhs.org domain name, nothing works. I've tried computers inside and outside the ISU network, and I can ping these computers, but they can't ping me. File sharing over TCP/IP (I know, not the most secure) doesn't work either. Also, if I try and use the Network Neighborhood name to ping a computer, the name doesn't resolve, but it does on other computers in my dorm. I've tried removing and reinstalling TCP/IP but I still have the same problem. I don't have any firewall settings set in Windows 2000 and I don't have Zone Alarm running (although it is installed) and I don't have any other firewall type apps running either. What would be causing my problem? I've even tried reversing the settings that the site suggests and nothing seems to work. Help!
