I broke a "lug" on the Socket A. Where can I find a heatsink that uses all three of those things?

Broke the center "lug", the thing that the heatsink clip holds onto. Anyone know of a heatsink that either uses all three of those things or possibly uses those four big holes around the socket? Thunderbird 950 BTW. Thanks in advance.

Thermalright AX-7 or ALPHA PAL8045T but check to make sure the 8045 will fit your baord if you choose it. Personally I would go with the AX-7.

Thermalright SLK600 and SLK800, Vantec 6040 and 6040h, newer versions of the Volcano 7+ and various Taisol heatsinks. Check KDC, especially for the Taisols.

Thanks blade, does this have the 3-hole clip on BOTH sides? Anyone know? Or are any of the ones with 3 hole clips on just 1 side (lke the chrome orb) reversible? The lug that is broken is the center lug on the side with the "Socket 462" lettering.

Cheaper the better, no overclocking.

I am pretty sure that heatsink has the 3 lugs on both sides.

I'm pretty sure it does but email Dave there and ask to be sure. The only cooler I kow for sure that has a 3-prong on one side and a 1 on the other is the power cooler.

The others mentioned do have 3 prong on both sides for sure.

Taisol CGK742092 looks like a good bet, I guess $17 shipped isn't too bad, granted its overkill for a 950. I don't think I can mod anything else though.

I just ordered the Arctic Cooling Super Silent Pro TC this morning it has 3 prong clip gonna see
how it works on a XP 1800 @ 12 x 136 = 1632 with 1.75v and shipping was only 4.50

That's what I use on my Celeron 1.2A. 3-prong retention clip. It's specified to work with Socket A's.

super glue at the dollar store, although if ur previous HSF was strong enuff to break the lug in the first place, might not work out
