Hey guys,

I bought new wood cabinets for our kitchen. We do a lot of cooking and smoke would often cause sticky grease to accumulate on our cabinets. Is there anything i could spray or wipe on our cabinets that would make it easier to clean grease off the cabinets every now and then? I read it's often a good idea to just wipe the cabinets after every time you cook, but i'm lazy as **** and looking for an alternative.

You do realize that you're supposed to ventilate the greasy smoke out of the house right?

Probably just keep them wiped; maybe once a week. It's easier if they don't get build up. Range hoods that don't vent outside suck. Sometimes that's the only choice, but it's a bad choice.

Are they bare wood or lacquered/oiled?

lacquered/oiled for sure

And since I'm such a nice guy :awe:

You need an oleophobic coating to repel oil.

Is this safe for laquered wood?

Unvented to the outside will never get all of the smoke. Just eat out like 98% of America.

It's vented! Just a little worried some smoke will escape and not be caught by the hood though.

Some of it has to do with the type of oil used. Olive oil and grapeseed oil tend to produce a lot of particles. I recently switched to Avocado oil and noticed that it doesn't tend to spray as much airborne residue around the kitchen.

Regardless, I do a major kitchen degreasing twice a year. It doesn't matter how often you wipe surfaces and appliances down. If you cook with oil your kitchen will require a major thorough deep cleansing occasionally from floor to ceiling.
