It was a really cool looking stainless steel one. It was super small.

Haven't seen it since I took it out of the package :colbert:

Flash drives are PITA. They don't even have to be the tiny ones. Any drive has a 50:50 chance of dropping into a wormhole, and landing somewhere you didn't put it. Early engineers recognized this, and provided a handy lanyard so you could tether it to your body. The trend in minimalism has omitted the the tether, so more drives are getting lost; probably behind the washing machine.

Stopped using flash drives as they have a high failure rate, small ssd drive and enclosure works for me.

And do you know how that SSD stores its data? It uses flash memory. So what you've done is swapped flash drives for a flash drive. :D

Want to try a laptop HDD instead?

I attach my flash drives to my keychain. I had a tiny 32GB drive, but the loop that hooked it on broke. So I'm back to my ruggedized 8GB drive that basically stores my backups and nothing else.

I attach my flash drives to a 3 inch usb extension. Makes it easy to find and overcomes any problem the drive has fitting into a port due to size issues with other connectors.

Yeah I've a 12 inch extension on the back of the main where I get to it easily.

It's not on there.

I can see why you think my writing sucks. You don't understand it. That's ok, reading comprehension and interpretation isn't everyone's forte. It absolutely is in that wiki. It's not verbatim, but the translation is pretty straightforward for anyone who mastered the shape cube as a kid ;^)

Love those effers... Too bad my computer is still running good with only USB 2.0. Too lazy to add a PCI-E USB 3.0 card so I'll just bitch to the world instead.

I lucked out and found a 32GB SD card in a hotel room that must have been out of eyesight of the cleaning people (I am 6' 4") It was still in the package and I know I should have reported it to the front desk but I was in a sleazy hotel, which a similar establishment had just stolen my DSLR so I rationalized the theft. The last USB stick I bought was only 8 GB.

Side story, I used the card to backup my photos and documents on my laptop. The files ended up corrupted, and I don't know if it is from keeping the card in my laptop and subjecting it to harsh conditions or from the corruption I used to obtain it.

It was cursed. They knew what they were doing.

My briefcase is filled with these. Not that easy to find, but convenient in every other way.

Does that mean every photo taken with my stolen camera had an artifact I will recognize? FWIW, I formatted the card and just use it for quick transfers (you know, in the .01% chance I need to sneaker 32GB) and it works fine.
