I bought a new(er) car and took it for a drive.

I got tired of having to deal with repeat alternator problems and an ac compressor replacement. Since that car was pretty much the exact opposite of what I wanted to begin with, I decided to spend the time and money to get the right one.

2012 Mustang GT

Kona Blue

Black interior with Saddle Seats

6 Speed Manual Transmission

Track Package w/ 4 Piston Brembo Brakes and 3.73 Gears

and a Glass Roof!

This car is awesome!

(Sorry for 2 shitty photos. Will update once I get new/better ones)

I bought an 06 Mustang GT with 50k Miles on it. I've owned a few Mustangs before, but never a GT. I decided that Memorial Day weekend was a good time to go stretch my Pony's legs out and drove it down to LA. Took Mulholland Dr from the 101, down to the 101 in Encino, 101 to the 27, 27 to Mulholland Hwy, and Mulholland Hwy down to PCH. God what an amazing drive!

I know I really wanted a 5 speed but unfortunately due to a few uncontrollable circumstances, I couldn't get one. 🙁

I was able to get the not only a Carfax but the one Equifax does, which lead me to discover what dealership the car was serviced at. I called the dealer and they read to me the entire service history of the car. The previous owner took the car in every 5k miles for service and the only major repair was a catalytic converter replacement 4 years ago.

damn that area looks sweeet, I gotta take my new Saturn Sky Redline and drive where you did. I'm adding that to my GPS list so I can try it myself

Nice! Yesterday was a good day for it too.

Funny, I was in that area yesterday. I dropped my wife off at Long Beach airport in the AM and did something I've never done before, I got on the 405 freeway going the wrong direction (meant to go south but got on going northbound instead). I didn't realize it right away either for some reason until I started seeing signs for Manhattan Beach and LAX. I was distracted, thinking about other things.

I got off at Imperial to turn around but then I had an idea, why not take my son up through Beverly Hills and Hollywood. I know that area well so we got back on the freeway and got off at Slauson and drove up through Century City right past the Nakatomi building (Fox Plaza), through Beverly Hills, up to Sunset Blvd and then Hollywood Blvd. We drove all the way down Hollywood Blvd and got on the 110 to the 5 to go home. I haven't been up there in years. Hasn't changed much, homeless people still sleep on the sidewalks.

We enjoyed the drive though. Saw a couple Ducatis. Would like to go ride Mulholland on my Ducati starting in Hollywood and cruise out to the ocean.

I shoulda got the blue! But I liked the 2013 more and when looking at used you don't have much choice. I got black with saddle interior, rides great.

But I didn't go GT... maybe next time.

Wait... you bought a 06 and then you bought a newer one?

Yeah. Started having issues with it and I honestly wasn't THAT thrilled with it to begin with. I had settled on the Red 06 because it's the only GT the Ford Dealer had at the time. I ended up with it because my previous car had started to spin a bearing and I didn't want to replace an engine in a Car I hadn't planned on keeping.

Congrats. Nice car and really nice colour. Extra points for the 5.0. And you got stick - the only way to go in the Stang. Cherry on top is you get to drive it on PCH.

Man, you are one lucky person. Enjoy!

Wish I had my Mustang GT in California... Best roads so far I've been on were in Austin, but the flat part of Texas sucks.

I drove from DFW to Austin in my wife's 5.0. Nice drive. Then I drove from DFW to California, up the PCH to San Fran, through Sacramento, and to Reno NV. Awesome drive. It got a little fast through Las Vegas though when a Roush Mustang and Vette pulled up beside me. 🙂 THE best drive though was through Lake Tahoe. Wow! Most gorgeous scenery I've ever seen.

OP, take a drive to Lake Tahoe. I bet it would be awesome with your glass roof.

FAIL!!!!! 😉

grats on the new car! 🙂

Wanted a Mustang for a long time. Though the Fiesta ST has become mighty tempting. Sadly the nice driving days are getting further and further apart.
