I've only been playing for 2 years and I decided to plunck down some money on a new practice amp. I'm loving it. It's a nice sounding amp.

I think the better I get the more money I want to spend on my hobby.

I was playing with that at Guitar Center last week. It's a decent practice amp. I like the idea of a 1/8" jack input, but some of the presets were pretty useless. It does give you an idea of what pedals you're going to want though.

I just got an acoustic guitar a few weeks ago.
I have never played a musical instrument before this.

I just keep practicing G, Em, C, D open chords.

Did you start on acoustic or electric?

I like to start people I'm teaching on acoustic. It builds finger strength, prevents trying to play too fast, and sort of "forces" good technique.

Just my opinion though.

I too started on an acoustic. I bought a cheap Epiphone dreadnought to start. I wasn't sure if I'd stick with it so I didn't want to spend to much money. I actually play both my electric and acoustic about the same amount of time now.

I've got a question. Can a bass guitar be used with this amp without blowing it? My son wants to plug his bass into it and try it out. But I'm not sure if it will damage the amp.

Why would you want that on a guitar amp?

As said, as long as you keep the volume low, it should be ok. If you start cranking it and banging on the low E string, you'll end up tearing the speaker cone.

It allows you to plug your ipod into the amp and play along with the music.

This is why I bought a Line6 pod. You can play along with stuff and dick around with different effects before you go out and pony up for a dedicated pedal.
