Costco has a good variety of stuff here. While it isn't great, it's probably as good as Starbucks brand, but it's fresh roasted (get it straight out of the roaster). There's a lot better out there, but for $2.50/lb, you can't complain.

Rob

I thought the Costco-branded coffee was Starbucks coffee. Is this no longer true?

Starbucks beans really aren't all that great. You're in Cali, right? Don't you have some local roasters?

Starbucks beans are crap compared to a good local roaster.

So true. However, it was all the people who flocked to Starbucks and made my local roast go out of business.

I bought a some blue mountain once but, it really wasn't that good, may the stuff I had was fake or a bad roast but, to me it didn't really live up to the hype....

They may come from Starbucks (the beans), but they are roasted at Costco (at least here in Seattle). I don't buy the coffee (I buy from a local roaster), but I've had it before, and it was decent, and cheap to boot.

Anyone knows of a local roaster in Pasadena, Cali? I can't remember the name of the local roaster. I thought Peets offer delivery @peets.com

What's a good coffee grind/bean that's not overpriced like starbucks?

I hear ya. I've been grinding my own beans for awhile now(couple years). Every once in awhile I run out of beans and am forced to use my old favorite Ground Coffee(Nabob), it tastes like crap now! It used be taste so good, but there is nothing close to fresh ground beans.

careful with that chickory!!!:D Too much of that and it starts to make you crazy.

Fredtam is right though. Community Coffee is the finest coffee that I know of. Just make sure you brew it strong. It should be so dark that you cant see a spoon in it. We prefer Dark Roast.

Seattle's Best is great stuff. You can get it at a lot of grocery stores, or you can go to their shops or a Joe to Go drive-up coffee stand.
