I bought a 98 F 150

A friend of mine had a baby and needed more room so he bought an suv and sold me his 98 F150. The body is pretty straight but there is some paint peeling, I am not concerned with that though. It is the basic stepside 6cyl 5 speed, I got it for 1000. I am pretty pleased with it so far, the miles are high but it drives good and he has been up on maintenance since he owned it. It even came with a bed cover but I took it off, I doubt I would ever use that but it will stay in the garage if I ever need it.

Has anyone here owned one of these with this motor and year? It is a 3rd vehicle and will be used for the occasional hauling stuff in the bed. The only thing I dont like is the ac doesnt work but not a big deal since it will not be drove much. Oh and the dash lights on the cluster are a little too dim.

It has a Reece hitch installed and wiring but not a ball to hook up to. I am assuming all I need is the insert(square shape end) with the ball installed and I am good to good to haul a trailer.

Sounds right. Just check the tow rating so you have some idea of what the limits are. You may consider adding a trailer brake controller depending on how heavy of a trailer you're looking at.

EDIT: Forgot to add looks great for a $1000!
