from gap? hell yea. you should be able to get price adjustment in 30 days. after all, you can bring everything back for return, then buy it again.

you should've wait till today to make your purchases.

Pretty much any place will allow a price guarantee match for today EXCEPT for 6 hour sales etc... they will not price match those for you.

yes from gap

I would think they would price match. If not then it looks like I'm purchasing the same exact items I purchased 2 days ago and then returning the items I bought 2 days ago.

They didnt pricematch! They said they couldnt cause of a sale (wtf?)

I had to rebuy everything again. Now I have to go return it. I told them that is exactly what I was going to do too and they just gave me a disgusted face. Whatever.

Not sure if you care or not, but when I was in high school, I worked for GAP and we especially hated those cheap customers who would come in asking for a price difference.

If I was in your situation, which I actually am; I spent almost $200 at American Eagle the other day and I still have the receipt. Sure I could return everything and buy it again, or even try to get a price match, and no Im not rich or anything, but Id rather not. Im no scavenger.

If you're going to get over $50 back on over-priced clothing that you bought only a couple days before, it's financially stupid to not go and ask for the price difference.

I was reading an article the other day about a woman who actually never buys groceries. She goes to the grocery stores with the pocliy that if an item is displayed at an incorrect price, the customer gets it for free. This woman spend a couple hours in the grocery store, and leaves with $200+ worth of groceries. She's been doing this for quite a few years now, and in the process, she's been banned from quite a few stores as well. According to you, it would make financial sense to get your groceries in this manner rather than paying for them. Why don't we do this, it's taking advantage of store policies, and it reflects poorly upon your character. Not to mention it's quite a bit of trouble.

There will be people who insist on price difference matching, and I can understand why people would do that if it was a significant amount of money. But upon being denyed a price difference, to return all of the clothing and then buy it again is similar to the above situation as it exploits store policies.

I would do it for $60. Actually I probably would have brought the clothes with me in case they wanted me to return and repurchase them.

First of all, that's not the same situation at all. The OP did not seek to take advantage of the store's policy.

I never said that price-matching for paltry amounts was acceptable, but if you can save $50 that can be better spent on something else, there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, sometimes it reflects poorly on your character if you throw money around and don't care if you could save money to be better spent on other things.

Cry me a river. The store is in the business of serving its customers, but the customers are not required to reciprocate. As a matter of customer service the store should refund the difference upon request rather than making the customer go through this charade IMO, but I see nothing wrong with the customer asking for the discount and, if necessary, returning and repurchasing the clothes.
