From the gps map, travel apps like gassbuddy, yelp, I have to say I reall like it and want one. If kindle has cell it would almost be as good but the battery lift sucks.. I just may buy one.

They are nice. We just started using them for all of our quality checks at work and I've fallen in love. Going to wait and see how Windows 8 tablets pan out before I buy a tablet myself though.

I've got a Windows Phone (HD7) and I would recommend just going with the iPad. Windows is so far behind iOS and Android that it is pointless to go with them this early on.

Nice device, with some very irritating limitations.

NO multi-user here so forget sharing with anyone else.

Would you mind delving a little further into your points? I haven't really spent any time researching these but I am considering getting one in the new year.

Oh, and it's all Reagan's fault!

Its not multi-tenant.

So if you want to share it with your wife/girlfriend/firiend/other you have to compromise quite a bit.

SO if you hand it over to a friend (convenient if they want go look something up on the internets) there is no way to prevent them from looking at YOUR content. Even if they dont intend to.

Considering how handy a device it is, thats too bad.

Oh and Itunes.

Ug.

No really.

So you're saying there is no way to setup different user logins? That's kinda weak but not surprising given the mindset of the modern tech industry who often remove multi-user ability in an attempt to garner more sales (video game industry has gone heavily to this model over the past decade).

Yeah iTunes sucks but what can you do at this point in the game? They all jumped to run Napster out of business so they could invade that space and now you have to use half a dozen progs for your mp3's...total horseshit.

Thanks for the info Moose.

They want you to buy one for each member of the family. Given the cost of everything else these days thats not such a hard pill to swallow. Its the equivalent of 1 credit at my college, not including "Student Activity Fees" and parking passes and books.

That doesn't mean it's good, just that your college credits are bum fvcking you.

It's very irritating the way the ipad doesn't have multiple profiles, and very few games for it do as well, which essentially means only one family member could play a given game at a given time unless they are ok with another screwing up their progress.

The problems with itunes have little to do with napster. Even something as simple as copying an mp3 is flawed and bugged in itunes. I had 20 podcasts sitting in a folder on my desktop that I had downloaded and meant to put them into my ipoop to take on a camping trip. I opened itunes and copied them over. When I actually got on the road, I realized that not all my podcasts had made it onto the ipoop. wtf? What kind of horsecrap garbage company can possibly make a piece of software so unbelievably bad? You know how many podcasts actually made it? Like 9 or 10. Out of frickin 20. What a joke. These are just garden variety mp3s.

And a video? You can almost forget about it. It isnt worth the hassle.

I would wait for 4, its probably going to the same touch sensor technology in iphone 5 that'll make it slimmer. Originally 3 was going to use the same thinner technology but it was perfected so you had this bulky screen that eats up battery. Plus it'll probably use the new dock connector also, it be a hassle to carry 2 different types.

Disclaimer: as an apple share holder since 98 dollars, i will push you to buy more apple products. I dont own any ipads since 1 (which I sold). I like it but I dont find enough use for it. I do own 2 nexus 7 tablets (just came yesterday) 🙂 Im not a huge android fan but I just need to try these things out 🙂

Love mine, and I use the LTE all the time, but if there wasn't a jailbreak I'd be pissed. I'm not upgrading to iOS 6 unless if there's a JB.

I jailbroke my iPad2 so I could password protect whatever Apps I want. That allows me to give it to the kids, without worrying about them deleting a work email. That really is a dumb thing abotu the iPad - they allow you to passcode certain Apps like Safari, but not email. The other useful reasons for jailbreaking are to get iFile and various game emulators installed. I use a Wiimote for the emulators.

My kids have there own GameCenter accounts, so which does sort of give you multiuser ability. Overall I'm happy with the iPad
