Camm,
<We all work as hard a we can to increase our rate and climb the stats pages. Then all of a sudden we get trampled by a MINIteam from out of nowhere>
I work hard as I can to increase my keyrate, then someone new comes along with a major keyrate and tramples me, and no way I can catch up.
I work hard as I can to increase my keyrate, then a mini-team new comes along with a major keyrate and tramples me, and no way I can catch up.
What in the heck is the difference in those 2 statements?
What if the someone in the first example has talked 20 people into cracking RC5 on their PCs, but using one email addy, and that is how their keyrate shot up?
What if the person in the second example has talked 20 people into cracking RC5 on their PCs, but using one email addy, only 10 of them are already members?
I still get passed, and there was nothing I could do about it in either case.
The only difference I see is that in the second example, the net keyrate for Team Anandtech is smaller due to some being existing members.
Why can't mini-teams be treated just like anyone else that has a bigger herd than you? Just give em a friendly wave as they pass by, and then ignore them and go about doing the very best for the team. Whether that is 10 blocks a day, or 80K a day. Each member contributes to the best of their abilities.
And I don't want to hear about "it's not fair". Life isn't fair. Is it fair that I don't have the funds to upgrade the Cely300A@450 I'm on to the duely setup I would like, while I see other members getting 1Gmhz Athlons and using them in crackracks? No, it's not fair, but SO WHAT, again life is not fair! Deal with it! :Q
And the arguement about "Well I've worked hard to assimilate x number of PCs, and then a mini-team..." Don't you think that each member of that mini-team has done their very best and worked just as hard to improve their own herd and keyrate too?
And everyone is doing it for what?
To get Team Anandtech to #1 and fend of the DPCs!
That should be every member's primary objective, the TEAM goal.
Do what I do. If a member (or mini-team) passes me, I try to wave, and then go about concentrating on doing my very best for the team.
We are all in this together, OK?
