When there's lightning I make sure I'm inside. I've noticed a trend these last two years of a LOT more lightning storms in the Caribbean in Jan and Feb.

I could not count how many times we altered course so the storm was not over us - it makes it easier for people to sleep.

I saw a strike at about 100 yards, it hit a power pole and totally blew up a transformer. We were watching some action/horror flick, and I was the only one facing that way. It scared me, but at least I saw it for that brief instant before the boom got there. The rest of the folks crapped their collective drawers. The TV got REAL bright, and never worked again
