A. It isn't homework
B. Homework is to read that section...I'm so sorry that I wanted to go a little more in depth than just reading and not understanding it

Any context to base this on?
Taken out of context it's a metaphor for transcendent truth - all seeing, all know, and invisible. It's a spectator removed from social confines able to observe from outside and within. A literary example would be Ellison's Invisible Man (Ellison was influenced by Emerson's work).
My comp lit prof always wondered why I didn't take up the major. Then she put me in a class where I was the only guy. Do you know how intimidating it is to be surrounded by a room full of raging feminists?

The quote in context explains itself, IMO.
"...all mean egotism vanishes. I become a transparent eyeball; I am nothing; I see all."

Is he trying to metaphorically say how a person is made of his ego...once that's gone, you are nothing
Would that be it?
I thought before that it had something to do with him becoming true with himself
