Prepare to be disappointed. $7.50 at best.

BTW: Don't expect to be hired if you didn't answer their 10000 questions like a complete goody-goody.

I'm expecting to be paid enough that I can survive on. If I can't get it here, I'll get it elsewhere. Base pay @ Laconia Savings Bank is $9.xx w/o any experience, and it's not that hard..but unfortunately they're not hiring locally.

i hired in at staples making ~$9.50 as hourly work. Then I went into management. The money was better, but there is no employee discount there. I left a year later for a dead end job @ kmart and have spent my last 5 years there as hourly management :(

Minimum wage should be removed. Let the market dictate the rates. Minimum wage just pushes inflation.

in a true democracy, this is true. in the real world, where the quest to satisfy the bottom line while maximizing profits is king, a paltry $2-3 an hour satisfies no one.

Former experience - 3.5+ years working for a major supermarket chain (cash handling experience over $20k, if that helps any)..banks up here pay $8.50-9+/hr base with no experience, but I can't find a bank job. I'm thinking to ask $9.50/hr - I'd rather risk getting laughed at than risk undercutting myself.

Any experience/tips? I have no idea what they typically pay.

The pay is around $8.50/hr, I believe. My friend works at Staples and that's the last amount I remember him mentioning... but he's been there for a few years now. This is in NYC.

I hope this would just be a part-time or temporary job, especially if you're no longer going to school. They seem slow to promote (unless my friend just sucks) and raises will not keep up with inflation.

I didn't know entry level retail experience was hard to come by
