I complained about the crappy Wifi I had to pay for at a motel recently. (A 3 star extended stay suite facility in a major city.) Got this email a few days later from the MANAGER:

"First I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to fill out one of our surveys.

Second I would like to inform you that I am going to remove the charge for the internet on your folio. You will notice a credit in the amount $4.99 back to your discover card. I do apologize for any incontinence this may have caused you during your stay.

Must be tough to find good hotel managers if this one got the job!

Why say "folio"? And not bill or account?
It may have been an inconvenience, but what does that have to do with incontinence?

LOL

It has more to do with them not paying enough to attract good employees. Take Motel 6 (admittedly at the lower end of the spectrum). They pay less than $9/hour to employees that have been there 3-4 years (and these are adults). You won't attract many good employeed at that wage.

You got a refund that they didn't have to give you, and you're complaining about spelling?

Since when is Motel 6 a 3 star??? that's like 1.5 stars at best.

This is a place where the suite regular price is $149/night

No, 1 stars are the dirty flop houses you see that often have long term tenants in them. 3 stars means the hotel is a clean, safe, but basic place to sleep.

Whats 2 star then? I always though the 40-50 dollar night motels were 2 stars, holiday inns were 3 star, Hyatts and such were 4 star with the upper echelons at 5 star.

Slightly cleaner flop houses? I don't know. But I know there are a LOT worse hotels than Motel 6. It's at least a 2, if not a 3.

There has to be a key to the rating system online. Wanna find it?

Well, the only difference between a 1 star and a 2 star is they flip the sheets... but usually still an hourly motel. ;)

So, you peed all over the room and left your billfold behind.

Looks like they got your charge cards too.
