I know i have been hereing a lot about Liteon cd-rws and i am sure they are really good. But is Liteon and plextor cd-rws both equal in quality? I am wondering what are the big differences that seprate these two cd-rws if any? Like feature wise maybe or they both have the same great features? Lite-on just seems like its too good to be true but i guess that is possible. I mean a lot of people are using them with no problems so it seems like it is.

Please reply
Thanks

I haven't read a Liteon review yet, but I've read on this site that people love this cd-rw. It's also cheap to. 90-100 dollars for a 24X speed burner.

Now, I have reviews in Maximum PC on the Plextor cd-rw's and they gave the 24X a top ten verdict. So it kicks ass!! But the price of these cd-rw's are a little more expensive. 160+ dollars for a 24X.

Hope I helped =)

The 2 main factors to look at are:

1. Plextor is about twice as expensive..
2. Plextor seems to have better support..

So, if you want to spend 1/2 as much on something that seems to work very well (I have one) and you aren't worried about support -- if you get a 1 yr. warranty from the place you buy it then that should suffice then I'd say go for the LiteOn..

Lite-on is rated really well, but when you are talking plextor, you are getting a great drive as usual, except you are paying for support and the name. They're both good drives as well as other manufacturers. Don't expect to get much more than a 1 yr warranty on any cdrw drive cause they are prone to failure at any time for any brand.

all things being equal, get the LiteOn.

have two and two of the 16x DVD's to go with them, very nice, smooth, fast and cheap.
