Nor did we. In case you never noticed, we didn't start the fire either.

If ya don't vote, ya got no right to bitch...

If you don't like the available choices, vote Green, Libertarian, Communist, whatever, but VOTE!

I do agree with you that it looks like the choices we're gonna get stuck with in 08 are dragging the bottom of the barrel...IMO, it'l be another case of choosing the best of the worst...Maybe it's that no one worth a shit would be willing to subject themselves to the massive character assassination that comes along with running for a major public office...especially the Presidency...

BTW, quitcher bitchin...we Boomers didn't invent Social Security...we've been paying into it our entire lives...which (at least in theory) has been paying for those who came before us...so get the fuck to work...I'm getting close to collecting mine! ;)

There's got to be over 500 videos on youtube of Ron Paul consistently over 20 years talking about what you're addressing in your post, OP. You can throw out your vote and passively endorse more Rudy Guiliani and Hillary Clinton bullshit, or you can vote for something else. If everyone goes "oh well, we can't change anything" then your vote never means a damn thing.

We?re already disenfranchised. Voting is not going to solve our problems, only the abolishment of Washington DC can do that. If you?re going to vote ? vote to reduce this government. The bigger it is the harder it will fall on all of us when the time comes for the dysfunctional bureaucracy to implode.

You can chalk this post to more Ron Paul spam if you like, but he's the only candidate I've heard with actual solutions to these problems. I've also donated $50 to his campaign and will vote for him if I get the chance.

Google Ron Paul!

Vote in the primaries at least man. While I agree that voting in the 2008 election itself could prove useless if Rudy or Billary are the choices, you can make a difference in the primaries. Most people who vote in the 2008 elections will not vote in the primaries. Do some homework and find a candidate you can get behind wholeheartedly and go out and spread their message. The primaries are rapidly approaching and this is your shot at making a difference. Find the candidate that supports your ideals and support them in return. You CAN make a difference if you choose to get off your ass and do something about it. But, I am one more of those "crazy" Ron Paul supporters with a sign in my yard, a sticker on my car, and attending meetup groups of other "crazies" just like me in support of making a change. The status quo sucks, but you're doing nothing only perpetuates it my friend. Action speaks louder than words.

Just about every generation before did. So what has this one done?

No counterculture anymore, no organization, no nothing but hipsters sucking up mainstream culture the adults have force fed you.

Kids seem mostly into getting into debt asap and moving off to the 'burbs to work, have 2.5 children get old and die.

It is no wonder American music is such shit nowadays.

No adventure of being young, no fighting spirit, nada.

Just a race to be old and conform + sell out.

CRRRRAAAWWWWLLLLIIIINNNGGGG IIIINNNNN MMYYYYYY SKKIIIIIIIIIIINNNNN

edit:

Ok I'll add more. I have a pretty simplistic political mind. I don't have much time to devote to such matters. Ron paul sounds okay I guess. But something I've been thinking lately is all of us who complain and want real change, why do we vote for the front runners with the deep pockets? That just means they owe the most favors to the corporations who put them in office. Let's all vote for whoever has raised the least amount of money every 4 years. It wouldn't be a perfect system, but how could it possibly be worse? It's foolproof! Turn it into a golf match, lowest money raised/spent wins.

I'm with yah man :) These two parties have ZERO intrest in the U.S.A. They are for their own profit and NOTHING more.

I will be voting though.. but I'll be filling in.
