You can find ithere.

I am specifically interested in what you guys think about the motherboard and RAM. I do not intend to overclock. System stability is the most important.

Motherboard: ASUS P5B-E (P965 775)
RAM: Super Talent 2x1GB DDR2-800 (T800UX2GC4)

Does anyone have experience with these components?

Can you recommend alternatives which are close in price?

TIA

good components. Alternatives? GA-965P-DS3, P4N-E SLI, Biostar TForce965P; Patriot DDR2-800 LLK, Buffalo Firestix DDR2-800.

If stability is the reason you're not overclocking, you should really look into it again. With these new chips, there is no sacrifice of stability, and its much easier to OC now than it use to be.

I'm not sure why everyone's plugging the DS3 as opposed to the plain ol' S3. The capacitors in the S3 are going to outlast a lot of other components in the system. And it's still like 15 bucks cheaper.

Actually the caps should be the same now, as long as you get a 3.3 rev. Other factors are better ocing (look at anandtech's charts) and the 1333 native fsb. Plus I think gigabyte focuses more on the ds3 as far and bios and support go. Whether this is worth 15 dollars is up to how much you emphasis budget.
