I am trying to get my video card to work but nothing I do seems to work.

...Downloaded and installed the latest drivers
...set jumpers on the card for 4x
...set bios to enable 4x
...installed via agp miniport drivers

still all I get is that my video card is not configured correctly and it defaults to the standard vga driver.

I am running win 98 and in the proprties box all I get is an exclimation mark next to the video driver. When i click on it, it says that the device is working correctly and that there are no conflicts.

What gives?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It would be helpful to post your complete system specs.

Try going back to 2X. Lots of compatibility problems with 4X and Via. Tweak Town also has a registry hack to enable 4X properly on a Via chipset.

io magic 40x cd rom
SB 512 pci sound card
Onspeed 56k win modem
Running win98 (Fresh install)

anyone else have any ideas? Wouldn't you know it,...Diamond technical support is on vacation till next year ... bummer!!!

I have tried the registry hack from tweaktown but I geet an error that says "the specified file is not a registry script". Any ideas?

I want this setup to work so bad I can taste it.....

By the way my system now has 128mb of infineon cas2 pc100 made by Kingston purchased from onvia.com and arrived two days after I ordered it.

did you install VIA 4-in-1 drivers ? Especially AGP one?
