I am thinking of changing my shop stock power supply...

For years I have carried the Apex/Allied 350 watt power supply as my standard stock power supply. I am in an area with frequent thunderstorms and have had great success with this one. I would guess I have sold and installed like 150-200 and maybe 3-4 have failed. Here's a link to it at NewEgg:

However, it now costs 40.00 including shipping.

So I was looking at the Antec Basiq 350 watt. It has pretty good reviews, the 20+4 pin connector plus a sata that I require and if I buy them three at a time the cost about 17.00 each including shipping.

Any opinions?

IMO the Antec Basiq is better. Go for it, and pocket the difference. 😉

I use Antec in my personal computers, though much more expensive models, and I have been happy with them.
Have you any experience or heard anything about the Basiq?

AFAIK the OEM is FSP, which is decent for cheap builds. Just look for reviews of FSP units. Their lower end units tend to do well against similarly priced competitors, while their higher end units don't fare as well.

Huh. And FSP is Sparkle. I didn't know that. Thanks.
