Where'd you get that phone? eBay?

I need a new Verizon phone also, and after all the craploads of problems I have had with my Motorola T720, i don't plan on going with another Moto again. I've been looking at the VX7000 as well as the Samsung A670, which are probably the best Verizon phones now, but that Sanyo looks mighty sweet.
its an old model.

Yea I see that now. But on Sanyo's product page it mentions that it's "coming soon."
I'd still like to know where I can pick up a new one, if that's even possible.

I have it and it does all you mention. But there are things that I want, that I did not realize I would miss, until after I got this phone. I would suggest that you look at all phones and their features before deciding... there might be something that you want that you do not mention above that will come to mind while you browse all the phones.
what won't it do that you miss? (comparing it to my Audiovox 8900)

I dont know your phone, so I cannot compare.

but I hate not having a speakerphone. I hate that I must flip the lid to answer (goes back to speakerphone, I guess). There is no flash on the camera, so unless I am in blinding brightness the pics suck. There is no protection on the camera lens, it is fully exposed to the contents of my handbag. The available ringtones are limited, but it is easy to get new ones, if oyu know what you are doing.

I had a really nice Nextel Motorola phone and liked the java apps. I also liked the PTT. (It is for sale if anyone is interested ;) ). I also had a couple of other Motorola phones that are a few years old. No camera or bells and whistles that made me buy the VX6000, but served their purpose.

I am not saying that the LG VX6000 is a bad phone. I am just saying that... well, I got it when it was new, and paid top dollar for it. It was the only camera phone that Verizon had at the time and I was hooked on getting a camera phone. Looking back, I would have chosen something else or waited until better models came out.

:)

I didn't mean for you to compare, I just meant to list the things the VX6000 doesn't do, and I would compare it to my Audiovox to see if it does it.

Speakerphone - yup, mine has it, but you have to have the flip open to use it
I think there are only a couple cameras out there that have flash on them...and I don't think verizon carries any of them.
The lense is about 5mm back from the outer shell on my phone, so its a bit protected.

Just some info to the OP.

I don't really care about the camera but the v710 and the 7k do seem like the best bets. I will ask around and see if I can get a better answer to when the 710 will come out.

I love the 6000... no speaker phone, which kind of annoys me when I want to check voice mail while getting dressed for work, but otherwise, I have no complaints about it. reception is good, I can dump it into a cargo pants pocket and forget that I have it there, and I've never had an issue with poor battery life.

I agree with Lazee...LG batteries do suck. I'm willing to bet the v710 might be around $300? Just throwing around numbers here....

Out of all the Verizon phones that actually exist (effectively ruling out the Motorola V710 and V810), I'd say get an LG that has the features you want, or maybe a Motorola V60s.

Verizon is a good deal, because so much free roaming is included on the America's choice plan that most people never even need to worry about roaming charges. Most of the times you might be in an area where you would get roaming charges, you're just passing through, and could wait to make any long phone calls.

Verizon's IN-Network promotion is a really big deal too, because so many people now use Verizon. Approximately 1/2 of my peak usage is actually IN-Network now, and doesn't use any of my minutes.

Finally, Verizon charges lower "deception fees," which is my name for the stuff they add to your bill that looks like a tax, but actually goes to the company. Namely, those fees are for the "Universal Service Fund," and "regulatory cost recovery" for number portability. (And you're TAXED on those deception fees, too!) Verizon charges $0.45 per month for number portability, and 1.5% for the USF charge. Sprint, last time I checked, charges $1.50 per month for number portability, and 2.16% for the USF charge.

You might be able to. About this time last year Sprint was clearing them out for $50 (no rebate/contracts/etc.). I picked one up but decided it wasn't for me and I didn't have a use for it. Probably can still be found new on ebay.

To the OP: Better deal with Verizon? That sounds pretty backwards to me:confused:
