I am surprised alcohol binging is still a hazing method in this day and age.

I have heard more than once that the younger generation is supposedly smarter and less inclined to destructive behavior like this than their predecessors. BUT, once in a while they revert to old school frat nonsense.
One thing that has changed over the decades is their peers are being held more accountable for reckless behavior. Part of me does not want to see a bunch of young lives completely ruined but another part of me wants more accountability for incredibly stupid activities.

Er, lives completely ruined by these charges?

All of them are facing misdemeanor counts that include unlawful hazing. At least three also face counts of giving alcohol to a minor.

Won't someone think of the poor rich white douchebag fratbros?!? How are they gonna grow up to be tech bros if we keep charging them with giving alcohol to a minor and hazing when it leads to a death?!?

No leniency, our legal system has no problem making examples out of people they deem "lower" class. I don't see why it should be any different for frat boys.

"Don't ruin our lives because we killed somebody!"
