Shuttle AN35N NForce400
1 X 256 mb Kingston Hyper X 3200
GF2 450
Enhance 300 Watt Power Supply

The system works fine but I can't change the FSB to 133

I have updated the bios to the latest version.

I select expert mode, 133 fsb, 100% memory, 6,2,2,cas2 mem settings. Vcore at 1.6v, cpu raito at 11, and memory voltage at 2.7. Save/exit, restart and it will not post. I clear the cmos, and it boots fine. The memory is running at 400 mhz (post screen), but only running at 100 fsb (1.09ghz)

I dont understand it! Help

If your board has a Jumper Free mode, you might try turning it off and setting all the jumpers for a 133 fsb.

It will post if I raise the multiplier... but if I change the FSB to 133.... it will not post and furthermore if I hold down insert ... nothing happens... ...

my MSI nforce 2 400fsb has a couple of jumpers that came factory set to force 100 mhz. Yours is probably the same. Grab the manual and look for these jumpers. I will look up your mobo and see what I can see and post the info in a bit.

but I am sure this is whats going on.

well I looked at your motherboard on the shuttle web site. I don't see any jumpers at all, so my guess is that your bios setting for the FSB may be set to auto, where you nee to set it manually for the FSB you desire. It was the same way with my MSI board. Auto settings set it for 133 and I needed 166 so I changed it manually for my new Barton core'd XP2600+

try that.

Try lower settings on the ram(set CAS 2-->2.5 or 3), other ram settings may need to be lowered as well(note: "3" is lower then "2").

Make sure the 4pin 12v connector is plugged in. If your system continues not to function at 133 fsb, I'd suspect your power supply might be too weak. You could also try upping the VCore(should be able to go up to 1.85v, but watch your cpu temps and only bump a little at a time until it works) to see if that works(if it does it is another possible indicator of a weak power supply).

The memory shouldn't be a problem, the system has no problems booting at 100 fsb/memory at 200 and aggressive settings

I have tried the lowest memory settings and 133fsb, still will not post after rebooting. Even at 104 fsb, no post.

I swapped out a power supply, one in which was running a 1.6A overcloekd to 2.3ghz and still it refused to run at 133 FSB
